Tommi Bahama is a home away from home.  You will feel comfortable as soon as you enter this charming house.  It's turquoise trim is so cute it puts a smile on your face.  This two bedroom/one bath home has one queen bed in the master and a bunk bed and one twin in the second bedroom.  The master bedroom, or "Parrot Room" has a wonderful sea view, with white wicker furniture and bright colors.  The second bedroom is affectionately called the "Caribbean Room".  Linens and towels are provided, plus comforters and blankets in case it gets cool after dark.  A lot of attention has been given to decorating the home so you will feel like you are on vacation on a tropical isle!

The full kitchen has everything you need to cook your own meals on those days you want to stay home and enjoy the sunsets from the porch.    There is a stove/oven, toaster oven, toaster, coffee maker, microwave oven, pots, pans, blender, dishes, glasses, wine glasses....

The living room and dining room overlook the ocean from every angle.  We have a boom box, so bring your favorite music.  We have a collection of  VCR tapes and DVDs, lots of books, some games, and binoculars - for those days you just want to relax at home.   While here, become totally "unplugged" from the hectic world you left - What we don't have is satellite, TV, phone, noise, congestion and stress.  Out on the patio there is a gas grill so you can barbeque and a table and chairs so you can enjoy the phenomenal view.  The deck chairs and lounge have wonderful cushions to rest your body after a busy day of swimming.  The house is situated on a cliff and gets a wonderful breeze.

The house is equipped with 3 air conditioners and ceiling fans in every room.  We have an iron, but bring casual clothes so you can relax!  The house also has a washing machine and our water is city water that is drinkable.  We have a book on all the beaches on the island - so you can explore at your leisure.

Philip Thompson is our caretaker and will meet you at the house with the keys.  You must contact him in advance so he knows when you will arrive.  You can contact him via your cab driver, or call before you arrive in Eleuthera.  Philip can be reached at 242-335-5243.

Note:  One of the best things about Tommi Bahama is we are on a bluff overlooking the Sea affording us magnificent views.  However, this may not be suitable for young children, for safety's sake.

Things to bring

bullet

Insect repellant - Depending on the season, from about half hour before and after dusk and dawn the "no-seeums"  may bother you, bring the repellant that works best for you.  You may want to try Off, Skin So Soft, or something with Deet.

bullet

Food & supplies - The airlines allow you to bring a cooler, so you may want to pack some steaks, shrimp, prepackaged salads, frozen packaged foods, and frozen OJ as these are not readily or cheaply available on the island.  There are several food stores a short drive from the house - Thompson Grocery store in Gregory Town and Big Rock in Rainbow Bay.  There is a "big" grocery store in north Eleuthera on Bluff road "North Eleuthera Shopping Center" and in Governor's Harbour Eleuthera Supply and Burrows are  also well stocked.  You cannot bring fruits, vegetables, or chicken into Eleuthera - don't be surprised if Customs looks in your cooler.  You can also bring in 2 bottles of liquor or wine or a case of beer per person.  We are happy to supply some basic household items such as paper towels, toilet paper, ... but if you run out you will need to replenish these.  You may even want to bring zip lock bags for your fresh catch and sea shells.

bullet

Fishing, snorkel or SCUBA gear - The reefs around Eleuthera are teeming with life

bullet

Medicines - Don't forget your prescription medicines - however, just in case, there is a pharmacy in Spanish Wells, about 30 minutes to the north.  Emergency medical response is unreliable and distant at best.  Please be careful!  You may want to bring some basic medical supplies such as antacids, anti diarrhea, allergy medicines, band-aids...
